SPECULATIVE LITERATURE FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NOVEMBER MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

SPECULATIVE LITERATURE FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NOVEMBER MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

The SLF was founded by Mary Anne Mohanraj in an effort to offer science fiction and fantasy writers resources geared specifically to them, and to help genre writers become accustomed to the grant application process.

Since its inception, the SLF has grown to offer a variety of programs, including the $1000 Fountain Award for excellence in short fiction, a $800 Gulliver Travel Grant for writers researching new work, and a $600 Older Writers' Grant geared towards older writers just starting to work professionally. The SLF created the Small Press Co-operative, designed to help the genre's small presses exchange information and share resources, and a Technology Exchange, by which old technology can be passed on to new genre writers. The SLF offers a Mentorship Program for beginning writers, enabling them to gather valuable advice from more experienced writers regarding the craft and business of writing. Additionally, the web site offers comprehensive resources for readers, writers and editors.

The SLF is an entirely non-profit, volunteer-run organization and as such relies on donations and memberships to keep offering these valuable resources to the speculative fiction community. Funds from members provide the bulk of the SLF revenue; there are almost no administrative expenses, and membership fees go directly towards the ongoing development of grants and awards.

Please consider joining the SLF this month as a member. We also take donations in any amount, from $5 to $5000. All donations (including membership fees) are tax-exempt. To learn more about how to join us or donate, please visit our Membership Info page at: http://www.speculativeliterature.org/About/membership.php.

Thank you!
